About Bionest Technologies

Nature’s biggest strength is self – cleaning. Microbes are its warriors, having ability to degrade the pollutants in simpler forms and using them as a sole source of energy for them to survive and multiply.

Bionest works on the concept of biofilm. A biofilm comprises of specific syntrophic consortium of microorganisms in which microbes form a colony and stick to the media of the Bionest treatment tanks. These adherent cells become embedded within a slimy extracellular matrix that is composed of extracellular polymeric substances. The cells within the biofilm produce the EPS components, which are typically a polymeric conglomeration of extracellular polysaccharides, proteins, lipids and DNA. Because they have three-dimensional structure and represent a community lifestyle for microorganisms, they have been described as "BIO - NEST".

This syntrophic relationship between the consortia of bacteria is engineered to degrade the pollutants of the effluent, thus reducing the COD, BOD and TDS for the wastewater.

Each consortium is different for each effluent and has to be precisely designed for achieving the targeted results.
